2013-4-23 Tapas and Flamenco

This was tapas night. I have heard about tapas for many years but never tried them. I think they are appetizers that people eat in bars.  Since I don’t go to Spanish bars, I have never run across these in my normal life and really wanted to try them.

They were just samples of odd, mostly salty food. There were eggs cooked with salmon and shrimp, marinated black olives, baby squid, figs, oysters and clams, sausages, breads, tomato and bean dishes. Great band, too.

The Main Stage program tonight was a ripsnorter. It was the Zamba Local Cultural Show including rumba, flamenco and torero. We saw the Toreador dance from the opera, Carmen, in a very energetic presentation. They also danced with scarves, with canes and with castanets. One lady did a dance with hula hoops that had almost continuous applause.

We are on our way to Palma de Mallorca. We are going on a private excursion with some Cruise Critic members. We lost CNN while we were in Barcelona. It’s back now so maybe they will say why the stock market went up today.
