2013-3-16 Cabin N1012 on the Eurodam

I booked the cheapest handicapped room on the ship because it was available. I have a supposed picture of the room but I don't think this is really what it looks like. Handicapped cabins are larger, like this one, but usually an odd shape. I always get as low down and as much to the center of the ship as possible to minimize sea sickness. I would be in the crew section if they would let me. We decided on an inside cabin because of the light leakage. It will be good for napping. Also, as I said, it's cheaper.

For those who are curious, we paid $13,000 for 46 days. In that time, we will save some money over being at home. Maybe $4000. But, I will spend it all taking shore excursions, so it works out to be about the same.

The cruise line makes their money on liquor, fancy spa treatments, extra fine dining, gambling, shore excursions and internet. The only places they can nick me are on the shore excursions and the internet.

I always buy 250 minutes of internet time at the beginning of the cruise. That costs $100. That sounds like a lot of time but not for an internet junkie like me. Plus, it takes up to 5 minutes to sign on sometimes. So, I like to get my blog ready, get on the internet in the middle of the night, upload it and go back to bed. Bill doesn't like me wandering around the ship at night but I do it anyway.
