We said goodbye to Italy and we are at sea today on our way to
Cartegena, Spain. It’s a gorgeous day.
The sea is so calm that we can’t feel any movement at all. There is no wind
today. It’s the wind that makes the seas rough.
There are many interesting events today on the ship. We first
went to the 9:30 computer class called Making Movies with Windows 10. I have
made lots of movies with Movie Maker but wanted to see the changes. I left
after 30 minutes and went to Book Club. We are reading People of the Book by Geraldine
Brooks.
We have easily kept up with the shooting in San Bernardino,
Cal, as we have NBC, Fox News and the BBC.
I like to watch MSNBC and they report any breaking news, as well.
Bill stayed for the 10:30 class on Photo Gallery. We have a
small 13 inch screen computer that we bought at Best Buy especially for this
trip. He took notes for me.
We went to lunch and then got places in the showroom for the first lecture by Stephen Sloan, an expert on terrorism. He has a resume as long as his arm. He also has a very charming wife who is an actress and accomplished in her own right.
I haven’t mentioned the last two evening shows. Two nights
ago, we watched a performance by Ruben Villagrand who mixed Magic, Mime, Comedy
and Music. He never spoke but everything he did was easily understood by
everyone. It’s hard to explain what he did but we came back to our room in a
light hearted mood, only to find all four TV channels reporting the latest mass
shooting.
Last night, we listened to a classical pianist named Julian
Garguilo. I am not a big classical music fan but we both enjoyed his
performance. We want to attend a class called Share Stories with Windows 10 at
5:30, then on to dinner and another show from Roger Wright. I assume he is a
singer but I don’t really know.
We should probably be outside enjoying the good weather but
we are sitting in our room, typing and watching the news.
